Haley confirms that he has signed on for two more films in the rebooted franchise.
Last week, it was reported that Rooney Mara, the new Nancy Thompson, was signed on for the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street reboot as well as a sequel to the reboot. Today, bloody-disgusting.com reports that Jackie Earle Haley will be playing the razor fingered killer in no less than two more Nightmare films, stating to the website "two more" which caused BD to confirm that there were three films in total being planned. Haley apparently smiled waved three fingers and said "yeah". Again, of course all of this depends on whether or not the film is successful.
The same guy who played Kelly Leak in the Bad News Bears is gonna be Freddy? Fail!

To Guest 88, have you seen Watchmen? His performance as Roscharch was badass! And that is probably the reason why he was chosen to play as Freddy.

I agree with Mark Guest 88. Yeah, he did play Kelly Leak in the original Bad News Bears but I'm guessing you didn't see Watchmen. Jackie Earl Haley stole the show and his peformance made me a little excited to see him as Freddy. I hate remakes or reboots whatever you fuckin' call it these days but maybe this has potential because of him.

After I saw Watchmen, I saw the news story that he was picked up for Freddy and this guy is going to do awesome and he's going to give Freddy the evil that is required.
Freddy is the most evil, least sympathetic of all the slashers - PERIOD. He is a child murderer with no remorse whatsoever and I think Haley will do awesome in getting that across.
